Michael Zinzun believed in the power of film and production.
The Michael Zinzun Film & Journalistic School (MZFJS) is a 12-week educational program designed to train aspiring filmmakers and journalists from underserved communities. This initiative will provide students with hands-on experience in film production, storytelling, and investigative journalism while highlighting community resilience and recovery efforts.
The program will culminate in a student-produced film documenting the recovery and rebuilding efforts of Altadena residents following the Eaton Wildfires. Through this project, students will gain real-world experience while preserving important community narratives. The initiative also fosters creativity, critical thinking, and career readiness in film and journalism.
